( See link for the rest ) Q. Last year I bought a plan and learned I couldn’t keep my doctor. It was almost impossible to find out which doctors I could go to. It won’t be that way anymore, will it? A. Sadly, yes. To reduce costs, health insurers have restricted the number of doctors and hospitals available to their customers. And, like last year, doctors may disagree with insurers about whether they are in the network, which can make it all but impossible to know if you are covered. Covered California has no immediate plans to put a provider directory online, after its failed attempt to do so in the last enrollment period. The best thing is to check the directory provided by the plan you choose, then make sure to verify with your doctor or hospital of choice. ocregister/articles/covered-642200-plan-california.html
