In preparing my sacred bundle, implements of worship that are personal, medicine to me, for a trip, I looked over my bead strings. I have a set from the many different religions I have studied, all were given to me by strong people of the faith. A Cross given to me by my mother, Clara, a pearl strand with tassel, given to me by an Islamic Cleric in NYC, a Star of David woven into a rosery made for me by my dearest sister/friend Melody Lynn Bentley Jenkins, also crystal chakra beads, Japa beads given to me by my godmother, her grace, Malati Devi Dasi, a Native carved bone necklace given to me by my brother/friend Charlie Jenkins, one made of beans by Juan, a Shaman from Peru. All the people I have gifts from, believe in God. They just worship a little differently. My blessed mother gave me Christianity, Judaism, and Native spirituality. These, are my 1st loves that got me on the path of religious studies. Handling these beads, made me tear up, when I thought of the relationships I have/had with each blessed person of faith. I cherish these implements dearly.
