In proposing for government programs and interventions, we should - TopicsExpress

In proposing for government programs and interventions, we should be highly critical in how we assess the roles and functions of government as against the popular public demand for services...This means that we need to understand that the function of government is limited only to spheres of national interest and development but is highly respectful of individual and collective rights, determination, capacities and capabilities...Undermining this would lead to perinneal dependence and ultimately retard and even put to death the motivation and confidence in exercising their basic human rights and liberties... According to the famous book The Mainstreaming of Human Progress by Henry Grady Weaver, The harm done by ordinary criminals, murderers, gansters, and thieves is negligible in comparison with the agony inflicted upon human beings by the professional do-gooders, who attempt to let themselves up as gods on earth and who would ruthlessly force their views on all others.
