In recent days, it has become readily apparent to me that not only do many citizens not know our countrys history, they cant even be bothered to be informed on current events. As the dangers of partisanship and vitriolic media hype threaten to tear our citizenry apart, it is even more important that we arm ourselves with relevant information on the important issues of the day. Increasingly our lawmakers and those on whom we rely for information are becoming irrelevant in every day decisions. If Abe Lincolns reference to the Book of Mark that a house divided against itself cannot stand holds true (and it does!) I fear the direction we are headed. We must do better people! We CAN do better!
