In recognition of last week’s Volunteer Appreciation Week, the Birmingham Zoo would like to thank Susan Alexander for her years of service. Susan Alexander has volunteered at The Birmingham Zoo for 11 years and has logged over 4,000 of service. Susan’s tireless efforts in the area of elephant conservation and care have endeared her to thousands of visitors who often refer to her as “the elephant lady.” She has been a champion of 96 Elephants, encouraging local school groups, civic organizations and Coo staff to sign the petition.
