In reference to Gran Oro Sol Atropa Bella Donna Kona, since there has been plenty of misinformation going on FB, Ill make a general post: Kona was placed in Howling Woods Farm, by an individual who no longer had any ties with the club, and had been removed for morally questionable behavior. Ewa (Konas breeder), and the club, were made aware of Konas whereabouts and status months after the fact. After going through months of being unable to obtain her dog, she decided to drop pending legal action against Howling Woods days out from filing in chancery court in New Jersey. Ewa is based out of Europe, an she had someone representing her in the US, who is not a member of this club. Since the majority of the case rested on her support and the enforcement of her PSA (as she was the main plaintiff), her representative had no other choice but to withdraw the matter altogether. It has resulted in Kona being placed by Howling Woods Farm, a wolf-hybrid rescue, to a Dairy Farm in Minnesota. The owner of Howling Woods Farm was made fully aware that this clubs stance on rescues is that we defer to the breeder in these cases. And, only get involved if the breeder is unwilling or unable to rescue their dog. Also, the owner of Howling Wood Farm, which is a wolf hybrid sanctuary, was adamant on trying to establish that Kona was a hybrid despite the fact he was given Konas full pedigree, and provided literature, and documentation(all easily researched online) proving that Kona is a Czechoslovakian Vlcak, a purebred dog. He even went so far as to get her DNA tested with the University of California, Davis. He did report that Konas test from UC Davis, came back as a dog, and not a wolf-hybrid. However, the owner of Howling Woods Farm continues to be verbally abusive to folks within this breed community. He was removed from this FB page, after making a harassing post towards this club, and members. So thats the long and short end of it. This club never planned legal action against Howling Woods Farm, and we were not involved with her placement or situation. Our involvement with Howling Woods Farm was to provide education and literature on this breed, an its history.
