In reference to Randy Billings’ article “Portland Landlord with a Past Buys Building With a History”, I would like to point out that Mr. Soley is first and foremost a successful businessman in the United States, a capitalistic country. Every single landlord in Portland has issues with tenants, as does Joe. My personal experiences driving a cab in Portland in the past opened my eyes to the many ills plaguing this great city, but I can attest to the fact that I did meet many of his tenants who were happier than a clam about his properties. This kind of news never seems to make it into print. I recommend that our local media try journalism rather than charlatanism. If you did you may surprise yourselves and find out that your readership will improve. Money, as always, remains and will remain the bottom line in the United States. Zouhair Adam Bouzrara.
