In regard to the 2015 format poll on GFOA website, here is my opinion: Scratch race2, not going to be able to compete with MILP here. GFOA needs to stick to core competency of being simple, fun, and cheap. And most importantly offer something different than other leagues and fill a different niche. D5 division has crumbled which is really sad because that is the future or pball. Race2 was too complicated, expensive, and harder to keep a team together for new kids. I suggest going to traditional 3 man for the beginner division. For all of us old school ballers out there, tourney ball always started with local 3 mans, they used to be everywhere. 3 man is so much easier to get a team together when you are just getting started and actually keep it together. Open Division has also crumbled which is sad. Thats why the only other division besides beginner should be open, either 3man xball or traditional 5man. (3man xball would be best if other division is 3man so they can use same field) This will bring back the numerous d3 and d2 players that would love to play some cheap low commitment paintball and it would be cool to see some random pros here and there like GFOA used to have. The division would likely still be made up mainly of d4 players but they can get in some competition with higher ranked players and the overall skills of GA will improve. Or could do d3 instead of Open if its 3 man, that way some d2 guys can get in but the events will count like a d4 event because 3man gets a 50% multiplier so no d4 player will get easily ranked up to d3 by playing some d3 3man events Just some ideas, many of you will probably disagree, I just want to see a thriving league in GA and the current course is leading to no GA pball series.
