In regard to the ongoing squabbles about African football players - TopicsExpress

In regard to the ongoing squabbles about African football players and salaries, I feel the pain of the players, yes, but if they love the sport as much as they claim they do, they could at least fight for their brothers, mothers, fathers, sisters and for the LOVE OF THEIR COUNTRY! It is about the people of Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Algeria, etc not about the people who pay the national team salaries. There are millions of football supporters in Africa, who can not even afford to buy a TV to see their national teams take part in a big tournament like FIFA World Cup but they support these teams with all their heart. The amount of joy, hope and happiness that these supporters get when their teams perform, and do well, can not be measured to any amount in the world. How do you think they feel when the players (who in their daily world, earn even 10 times as much as what they are paid during the World Cup Championships) refuse to play because of delayed payment? Some of these boys could finance two teams each to Brazil and provide for a whole village back at home. I think African football players can swallow their economic greed and take one for the people!!!!
