In regard to the possibility that popular messaging service WhatsApp can deliver unencrypted data, our April Question of the Month asked if you were planning to, or already had, switched to an alternative. We got 6,550 responses and the results are below. 30% - Yes, I already use another service. 14.5% - No, I haven’t switched yet, but I’ve already checked other options and will switch soon. 19% - No, I have nothing to hide and won’t switch. 32.5% - I should switch, but I don’t know an alternative that fits my needs. 4% - Many of my friends have switched. To stay in touch with them, I had to switch to a new service, too. As you can see, a large percentage of respondents weren’t aware of any WhatsApp alternatives, even though there are multiple options like Viber, Tango, WeChat, and Kik.
