In regards to the Ray Rice situation, the problem isnt the media, - TopicsExpress

In regards to the Ray Rice situation, the problem isnt the media, etc, its the NFLs complete debacle of the situation. Every move theyre now conducting just makes them look more and more at fault for the direction this situation has evolved. Ray Rice was definitely in the wrong and should be punished accordingly, but revisionist history aside, the video shouldnt have changed anything from the NFLs perspective that they should have got right the first time around. What did they ultimately think he did??? That he just slapped her upside the head, or gave her a little love tap??? He pulled her dead weight out of the elevator like she was dirty laundry!?! Conventional wisdom should suggest that you really didnt need to see another video to make a more logical decision than the one you originally made. As for Ray, even if he does hold himself accountable and becomes rehabilitated, hes now become a complete scapegoat/pariah because the NFL felt they could sweep it under the rug, and now the rug is being picked up. If the NFL wants to continue to act like the league of integrity, then they, and especially Goodell, need to be held much more accountable for this continuous tire fire. Granted, Im not saying all of sudden we should act like were a society full of morality here, but when you have an entity that is known and watched under a microscope, with an unwavering amount of commitment and passion from millions of people like the NFL currently is, then they should have a personal responsibility to do what they can to make sure they get these situations right the first time around. When they dont, and do so in such an embarrassing fashion as they have, their leadership ultimately needs to be put into question...
