In regards to the TM case, please ask your local, friendly I attorney about lesser charges. Essentially what we on the street like to call "trumped up charges" is when a prosecutor goes for the gusto with charges filed although they have a slim chance of getting it. Charges carry mandatory lesser charges (in this case Manslaughter). Often Juries will begin to identify, sympathize, or be plain out confused by the defense and not feel ok with the charges filed HOWEVER they WILL opt for the lesser so someone is held accountable. Had the state attorney opted to only charge GZ w manslaughter and the jury came back w a lesser that would have been tragic. My prediction in this case is they will give him the lesser...which is what I always believed it to be anyway.
