In regards to the movie Noah. I enjoyed the movie and thought that it was an interesting interpretation of the story we all grew up reading in our Bibles. Were there things in it I liked? Yes, many. Were there things I didnt like? Yes, several. Was creative license used in the film? Considerably. As a film fan and aspiring filmmaker, I understand some of the directions the director took with the film and why. As a Christian, I understand the importance of telling Biblical accounts as they are written. I thought the film did an alright job in keeping to the actual Biblical account, but much was added and much was not seen. In short they could have done better. However, one must remember this is mainstream Hollywood we are dealing with, and to get what we have in theaters, especially in todays time, I think is a step in the right direction for using movies as a good ministry outlet. The movie was not perfect, and it was not made by Christians. However, the idea that big Biblical film productions like this are being made excites me as a Christian filmmaker. Regardless if they are a hundred percent accurate, I see the potential in this avenue and for film makers who are Christian to step in and make them better. The theme of redemption and Gods love is very much present in the film. I recommend people, especially Christians go watch the film, and form their own opinion, instead of taking other peoples opinion from online and other media outlets. Some will like it, some will not. This movie definitely makes me look froward to the next big Biblical movie coming out in December, Exodus.
