In regards with the terminology and wording liberal, weve know that elements of the New-Left and the post-modernists have hijacked and perverted the term for their own hidden agenda to promote illogical propaganda against their political opponents (the conservative-right). The word liberal does NOT conflate and correlate with Leftism, Socialism, Marxism or Communism. The term liberal can be potent powerful, it resonates to liberty and toleration, reflected into liberalize. Words have histories that a generation or two cant undo. A word has cognates and connotations that make our dialect cohere, more than we know more than dictionary definitions can explain. Now, todays left-wing gains enormously by getting away with clarifying itself liberal per-se. Now, I personally would like to see the American center-left/left-of-center (who BTW are the logical and reasonable left wing), the Democratic party here in the US, be called by others something other than liberal simpliciter. I personally can live with the plethoras of the left wing of Progressives, Democratic, social-democratic, leftist, or left-liberal all good, if theyre more logical, smart and not have a dogmatic worldly viewpoint and not hostile towards others whore antithetical to their views. Its a little unfortunate that so many non-leftists comply with the self-description assumed by the left wing. And for some 100 yeas or so, the left and left-of-center have dominated the cultural institutions wholeheartedly!
