In related news, The signing of Nelson Cruz by the mariners GUARANTEES that there will be no complaining in this group next year when his numbers fall off or gets injured. We offered more money per year but less years. He took the extra year.(who wouldnt when baseball contracts are guaranteed money?) We didnt lose Cruz. He was a free agent not tied to any team. He was set on testing the market and he was rewarded more than he is honestly worth. Our team was not Cruz and 24 other guys... Cruz played above level the first half and played level if not sub par the second half. He is a defensive liability. Stop blaming angelos... Stop complaining that we are not making any moves... The winter meetings have not even begun yet... We made most of our moves after the meetings last year. I know a bunch of people are speaking on raw emotion and that is all fine and dandy, but lets not raise Cruz up to savior status... We didnt win a world series last year and we had him. He was the home run leader with 40... 40... Are we back in the 80s again? He is replaceable. Relax.
