In response to Lara Giddings’ announcement today that she intends to recall parliament in order to enact ‘doubts removal’ in respect of the validity of the pulp mill permits, a public meeting has ben organised by members of the No Pulp Mill Alliance. This will be held between 6pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday 22nd January at the Tailrace, Riverside, Launceston. Speakers will be: Bass Greens MP Kim Booth, Tasmanian Conservation Trust’s Peter McGlone, Environmental lawyer Vanessa Bleyer and Lucy Landon-Lane from the No Pulp Mill Allaince Peter McGlone will speak about the implications for the legal challenge the ‘doubts removal’ legislation is designed to over-rule.
