In response to many requests for information on vessels I have published 4 volumes of vessel histories so you can have the information at your fingertips - on board the boat, in the car, or on the dock. The 4th and final volume of The Nauticapedia List of British Columbias Floating Heritage by author John MacFarlane is now in book stores. This series of four volumes has just been released. Volume is about 270 pages and contains about 1,750 histories of vessels still afloat that were built in or are based in British Columbia waters and were built between 1971-1975. In volume 1 the vessels were built between 1892-1960 (and are all still afloat) the other volumes cover 1961-1965 and 1966-1970. Each volume is illustrated with several dozen photographs. Several essays in the front and back of the book help boat lovers to understand heritage vessels and they way they are registered, measured and classified. Each history contains the detailed names of owners, builders, and measurements. The whole series together comprises about 1,000 pages and has 6,500 vessel histories. They are available in many leading bookshops in British Columbia (the list is included on the linked web page). See the details at nauticapedia.ca/Articles/Publications.php Its not too early to tell your loved ones that you want these books for Christmas!
