In roughly 5 hours it will be the ninth anniversary of the last time I spent with my Dad alive. He was already partially comatose at the time but had displayed many understandings and was certainly there. For many days our family had gathered, and wished my Dad the best, and assured him all would be well. I used a lot of humor then to get me through this. The night of December 9th 2005 I walked up to my dads stretcher held his hand one last time, talked to him for what seemed like an eternity, and yet now seems like an eternity away, and noticed that his left eye was open.
