In rowing, as in life, the importance of a good excuse cannot be underestimated. Due perhaps to my tight line on the buoys at the Head Of The Charles Regatta my partners oars got entangled in the buoy line, resulting in a 20-30 second delay while we disentangled ourselves. Managed to fight back into it to take 6th, and (most importantly) get the guaranteed entry for next year. Great racing to all this weekend!
