In school they teach us that M.A. Jinnah wanted an Islamic state. Others say that he wanted Sharia in Pakistan. If this was really the case, why did Jinnah appoint Jogendra Nath Mandal (a Hindu) as the first law minister? Why did he appoint M. Zafrullah Khan (an Ahmedi) as the first foreign minister. Why did he ask Jagannath Azad (a Hindu) to write the first national anthem of Pakistan? Why did he not adopt the flag of the Muslim League as Pakistans flag. He changed it to represent and include the minorities. Why did the majority of religious parties (including Jamaat e Islami) oppose the creation of Pakistan and condemn Jinnah? Why did he state that religion will have nothing to do with the affairs of the state when addressing the assembly that was drawing up the constitution. If you think rationally you will understand that Jinnahs politics has been distorted by the states agenda of Islamization. Jinnah never wanted to build a theocratic state. He wanted a secular-democratic parliamentary democracy and he felt that this was not in any contradiction with his view of Islam. Your comments...
