In seventh grade Civics we learned that a Bill was initiated in the House of Representatives and when it was passed by the House it moved on to the Senate. If passed by the Senate, it would be signed into law by the president who had an opportunity to veto the bill simply by not signing it. This was part of the system of checks and balances through sharing of powers that the constitution intended to keep the US from enacting stupid laws. What I am interested in knowing is who actually wrote the Affordable Care Act. We know for certain that nobody actually read it because it would have been impossible for anyone to read it before having to vote on it in the time frame involved. So Nancy Pelosis House rammed through a Bill that nobody had read. The Harry Reids Senate passed it the same day with nobody in the Senate having read it. The president signed it into law immediately without reading it, and all three of them paused for Holy Pictures like they were the Holy Trinity. The law was complete. There was just one problem. If anyone wanted to change the law it would have to go through the same series of steps that slows a law down in order to make sure that the law is indeed a solid thought out piece of legislation. The president has the power to accept or reject, but not the power to change it. That is why it is important to make it a solid law before it is presented for the final signature. Since the president signed the Affordable Care Act into law four years ago, he has initiated over fifty changes to it. Since his changes are not legal, the law in reality has not been changed although everyone tries to pretend it has been, and the entire HHS department is now in violation of the law as it legally exists. It occurs to me that nobody wants to point this out to the president probably because he is half black and showing him the correct way to do something might be construed as offensive to a black person. It is the only explanation I can think of for why he would not realize that his changes are illegal... Why he would not realize that The Emperor has no clothes!!!
