In some way Welbeck is right where he needs to be at Arsenal where he will be able to play as a striker not as a winger. His best season at Man Utd was under SAF in 2012 where he was used mainly as a striker alongside Rooney and he was effective. Once Utd signed RVP the following season he was either on the bench or forced to play wide left which is not his best position no wonder he hardly scored. Okay this wasnt Arsenals first option for striker but this is what happens when Wenger makes the squad to be better than it is and thinks Sanogo is the new Henry, at least Wenger got a reality check against Leicester. Welbeck is a good signing because he is only 23, he has great pace, great athleticism and work rate. The only thing he needs to work on is finishing which Wenger can help him with. Henry had similar issue before coming to Arsenal and look what Wenger turned him into. Im not saying Welbeck is going to be the next Henry but Im confident he will thrive under Wenger and hey if he doesnt by the time hes 26 we can sell him off and recoup some of the money. So the way I see it this is a 3 year trial period for Welbeck. If someone told me in the morning of deadline day we have a choice to sign Welbeck or keep Sanogo upfront until December I would prefer to sign Welbeck or we would have dropped so many points till Giroud came back. I am confident he will succeed at the Emirates and at least we won’t have to watch Arsenal suffer with Sanogo upfront. If Wenger can bring out the best in Giroud he will defo bring out the best of Danny. #getbehindhimArsenalfans
