In spite of knowing that everything here on earth is changing, ephemeral and illusory, in spite of knowing that all that seems true today will one day eventually find its way into the dustbin of time, if we could still love others, feel their pain, sympathize and empathize, give willingly, and play the game, knowing fully well that it is only a game, that would be the true meaning of compassion. You may be awake, but you still have a kind heart and though you know that the other person is only dreaming, you are willing to pamper his dreams too. Thats true compassion. And after pampering his dreams, you job is to slowly show him that the only way to get rid of his problems in his dreams, is not to try and solve them, but to wake up. Wake up, and your problems which existed in your dreams are automatically gone. You need not undertake remedial measures.
