In spite of the season, we must not forget what the families of the New York & the Florida Police officers are going through right now. Each & every day police continue to put on their uniforms and continue to protect & serve. The following was written by John Jerman. December 20 at 9:47pm · Edited · Ive stayed quiet on this too long. Cant bite my tongue any longer. You may want to grab a drink before you sit down to read this because I have some things I need to say. We lost two brothers in blue today in a senseless and unprovoked ambush style murder of two members of the NYPD. It is reported that just prior, the killer posted to social media Im putting wings on pigs today. I have gown tired of watching the protests that have recently occurred when a police officer had had to make the difficult decision to use deadly force. In one instance, a man fights with an officer, and tries multiple times to take his firearm. The officer felt he must use deadly force. He did not ask to be put in that position, he responded to a situation he was faced with. A Grand Jury found he had not broken the law. They heard all of the facts and evidence, and he was CLEARED. Protests ensued. People acted like animals. Were they there to see and hear everything the grand jury did? No. They made their own decisions on what was right and wrong without that evidence. In another instance, a unsupervised, unaccompanied 12 year old boy was playing in a park. His style of playing included walking up to people in this park, and POINTING A TOY GUN TO THEIR HEADS. I say toy facetiously, because ladies and gentleman, this toy looked as real as the weapon I carry daily for work. Police responded, he was ordered to put his hands up. Instead, he reached in his waistband to pull out the gun. Police responded accordingly, and we all know the tragic outcome. The officer merely responded to the actions of this young man. The young man made the unfortunate choice to not follow the lawful order of the police. Now, as far as todays senseless murder of the two NYPD officers. Will there be immediate protests? No. Will his bothers and sister in blue, his family, his friends riot in the streets? No. Will we block public roads and interfere with the rights of other to prove our point? No. Will there be looting of privately owned stores to honor them? No . Here is what WILL happen. Their brothers and sisters across nation will grieve their loss along with their families. Many will spend time in silent reflection as to our own mortality. Thousands will put on the dress blues and respectfully attend their services. Bagpipes will play amazing grace. A 21 gun salute will echo throughout the air. Their families will each receive the flag that draped their caskets. And then a trumpet will play Taps . You know what we will do next? Across the nation, in leau of protests, we will put the uniforms on, we will put on our best game face, take a deep breath, and head back out to the streets to fulfill our oaths to protect and serve. We will continue to walk the Thin Blue Line. We will continue to stand between the good and evil of society. We will even continue to protect those who swear our names, and detest what we stand for...because that is what we swore to do. THAT ladies and gentleman, is how WE will show honor to our fallen brothers and sisters. That is how WE will show what we are made of. And that is how WE will continue to live our lives. Hate us all you want, that is your right. We will still be there at your moment of need to protect YOUR freedom and YOUR lives. To the fallen, rest easy now...and watch our backs...but we have it from here. Godspeed...and God Bless you and your families. (These are my words and my words alone. If you disagree, that is also your right. However, dont bother to post if you disagree. Not on this post. Ill delete it as soon as I see it.) https://youtube/watch?v=GMnqFMW2y8c&feature=share
