In the 1960s, federal troops were ordered by the FEDs in the US to monitor elections mostly in the Southern part of that country. Just to counter any riots by the racist white Americans who vowed to lynch any black man who dared to vote in any elections. So, Mr. President is in order! Nigeria as a nation since 1963 adopts the presidential system of government in the US. So, President Goodluck Jonathan through the art of deploying troops during elections to avoid any breach of peace and order by some trouble makers is acting within the framework of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. These are some of his inherent powers in the Constitution of the Federation.
