In the 19th century, the Tuttles inherited a beautiful homestead - TopicsExpress

In the 19th century, the Tuttles inherited a beautiful homestead in Maine from their father, but no sooner had they settled into it than they ran into an unexpected challenge. A combination of land clearance and overgrazing had led to soil erosion, leaving a vast stretch of barren sand. Discouraged by what they deemed an irredeemable problem, the Tuttles abandoned the homestead. A businessman named Henry Goldrup acquired the property for $300. After six years, he came up with an idea to develop the barren land into a tourist attraction. He named it, “The Desert of Maine,” charging 10 cents per visit. The site grew to become a popular tourist attraction, which it still is today. Where the Tuttles saw a problem, Goldrup uncovered an opportunity. The challenges we face present opportunities for innovation, personal growth and, yes, for God to prove Himself strong on our behalf. Think about it, would Joseph have ruled Egypt if the challenge of slavery and imprisonment did not provide opportunities to demonstrate his gift and appear before Pharaoh? Maybe Daniel would have remained an obscure slave boy in Babylon if the king’s challenge to the magicians did not present an opportunity for promotion. So, what challenges are you faced with today? Consider them a stepping stone to the next level. The Bible assures us that everything works out for the good of those who love the Lord. So meet the day with joy and confidence, assured that even those difficult challenges confronting you are incubating great benefits for you and yours. Your life will be an endless series of seized opportunities, in Jesus’ name. - Pastor Taiwo Memorize & Meditate: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 Prayer/Confession: Father, I believe you are working all things out for my good. I receive the wisdom to see and seize every opportunity around me, even in my difficult situations. I will grow through my storms, create opportunities for innovation in my challenges and experience God for myself, in Jesus name.
