In the Bible, the Book of Acts 13:1 says: “Now there were in the church that was at Antioch, certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul”. Now we know that Peter was very important in the Christian movement. We know that he traveled with his wife on many missionary journeys preaching and teaching in Antioch, which is in Syria, and the gospel mentions the term Christians for the first time in the Bible. Here is something that you may not know and until a recent study, I didnt even know. Now we know that Peter was also known as The Rock, Simon, and Cephas. But, did you know that he is the one known as Simeon as mentioned in Acts 13:1? If you look up Simeon in the Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible you will find under 4826 in the Greek that this is the same name as Simon Peter. So this also confirms that Peter was in Antioch and that he was called by yet another name. It also says that he was called Niger. Interestingly enough if you look up the word Niger in the Strongs under 3526 in the Greek it simply says black. Did you get that? Simon Peter was called black, he was a black man. That is right, Jesus/Yeshuas disciple Peter was a black man. Not only him, but that means that his brother Andrew would have been a black man as well. You do not have to take my word for it, study this yourself. This just opens up a whole different perspective of the Word. I know many of you probably have assumed that he was a white man just as I had assumed he was dark brown like an Arab. Truth is, we all have so much to learn if we just crack open the word and really study for ourselves. Do not ever assume that what man tells you is correct. It is good to listen, but it is better to take notes and study for yourselves. That is a big problem with Christianity today. If more believers would study the scriptures for themselves and be guided by the Spirit within them and have reputable resources at hand, they would see the word in an entirely different perspective. The perspective of Truth. Anyway, I just wanted to share some information that I came across. Trust me, when I heard this I just had to see for myself and study it and sure enough the resource I received it from was correct. One more thought for you in closing. You do know that the tribe of Judah, the same tribe that Jesus/Yeshua is from is Negroes, right? Hey, like I said study this for yourself. The truth is out there. Yeshua said He is the Way, the Life, and the Truth and no man gets to the father except through Him. Be blessed and be a blessing to someone in need.
