In the Blaze of Battle! in AMAZING SPIDERMAN #77 is continued from the previous issue... The Human Torch has gotten in the middle of Spidermans fight with the Lizard and is bent on destroying the creature, unaware that Parker has a different conclusion in mind altogether. Try as the Torch might to stop the Lizard, Spidey stops him from causing the Lizard any harm at all. Meanwhile, Billy Connors, having heard of the Torchs inclusion, tries to find him to stop him from incinerating his father... The fight ends up on the water front, where the Lizard is knocked into the water and knocked out from the excessive heat of the Torchs flames. Plus Spideys efforts. When the Lizard is pulled out of the water, he finally convinces the Torch to buzz off by pretending that he has Spider-Sonic Hearing and picked up a distress signal from the Fantastic Four. Pardon my mirth! Spiderman should share that nugget with Ben Grimm! Spidey then carries the Lizard to what he thinks is a safe place and begins looking for something that will change him back into his human half. When Billy arrives on the scene, the Lizard breaks free and threatens the boy. Spiderman uses a dehydrating powder on the Lizard and there is a fruitful result! Success!
