In the Book ( THE BIRDS OF DAYTON ) 63 years of records - ( LANDFALL PRESS DAYTON OHIO 1984 ) On the morning of Oct. 22 1962, Dale Hess found one in a large water filled gravel pit near Stebbins high school. This evening, Fifty Two years and one month later. Marcia and I went to the same location, now called Eastwood MetroPark. and found this Bird. ( American White Pelican ) 11/22/2014 ~ We want Thank Uncle Bruce Boedeker for gifting us this book ~ As of 5:30 pm. this evening as we left the park, the Bird was still there. See Yall in the am... ;-))) PS : just a reminder- the Gate does not open till 8am.
