In the Book of Acts, the coming of the Holy Spirit to the church - TopicsExpress

In the Book of Acts, the coming of the Holy Spirit to the church in the day of Pentecost is described as a violent wind. As believers in Christ, we are given the gift of the Holy Spirit who has the power to comfort us, convict us, empower us and intercede for us. Just as the forest creatures react to the wind differently, each of us has a choice in how we respond to the Holy Spirit in our lives. When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts & actions, we sense Gods power lifting our vision to see the needs of others more clearly. God empowers us to collect food for the hungry, write a note to a discouraged friend or relative, give money to a charity or organization, pray for a healing or share the love of Christ with those who feel unloved. Many of us are just attention seekers looking for applause from the crowd that we perform for and not true servants of Christ as we should be.
