In the Christian faith, we believe that the old testament and the new go hand in hand when it comes to the generational tree as we can trace the tree line of Jesus Christ all the way back to Abraham. This is where the differences start to appear in the Muslim faith and the Christian faith...and can be traced all the way back the the beginning book Genesis 17. The Lord God was represented for the first time in Genesis 17:1 as El Shaddai God Almighty. In the Christian faith, we believe that Jesus Christ did not begin when He was born to Mary, but was with God the Father from eternity past which is hard to grapple with our limited minds, but none the less, that is what we believe. So when Genesis talks about El Shaddai, God Almighty, it is not only talking about God the Father, but God the Son, who became Jesus Christ of Nazareth when He humbled himself to be born of this earth for the reasons of redemption which I will not get on here. God introduced Himself to Abraham as El Shaddai which means...God Almighty. To be all mighty is to be representative of complete, pure omnipotence and not lacking in any way to accomplish His will. What is it that you are praying for or see as insurmountable to overcome or perhaps an answered prayer in your life today? I am learning about these things through Kay Aurthur precepts. Yesterday at the study, she reminded me that God will do whatever that is, (the insurmountable and thing you have been praying for for a long time) God will do it His way and in His time. It is not that He cant do that thing and it is not even that He wont It is simply that in His time, His way, He will answer it for you. I think the charge for us as Christians is to give Him His rightful place in our hearts and minds whatever state of waiting that we find ourselves in.
