In the Dominican Republic, either youre extremely wealthy or very poor. Youre rich or you are working for the rich (esp. in the Casa de Campo compound). When arriving at the house youre treated like royalty, bags unpacked for you, rooms are cleaned daily, when the help isnt there for your every beck & call they are in the kitchen fixing extravagant meals. After a few nights I couldnt help but sit at the dinner table & feel unworthy of it all. I wouldve rather traded my place at times to see them happy instead. This wasnt a new experience for me but for some reason I left with a much deeper appreciation for EVERYTHING. Ive even warmed up to 90 yr old tranny perfume I bought :-) Afterall, the best things in life arent really things.
