In the I dont know why I waited so long to get around to doing this department, I installed a dyno-powered light on my Dummy, and built a dyno hub into the front wheel. When I bought the bike in May of 2012, I didnt figure on it being out at night very often, and then for short enough trips that a serious see where Im going light set wouldnt be necessary. I should have known myself better. Happily, I had a spare light set, a CygoLight DualCross Pro, that came off my Globe Vienna 3 Disc when IT got DynoLIGHT (said in Jimmie Walker voice) the year before. That was great--lots of light output and reasonably reliable (as long as I kept track of the charge state...). But the battery run time on rechargeable stuff isnt always as advertised, especially since I was reluctant to go for the shorter run times of the Li-Ion batteries available when I got the CygoLight in 2010 (I got the last of the NiMH sets, I guess). As the battery aged, run time deteriorated. Sometimes I forget to charge it when I need to do so. Sometimes Im on the Dummy because I plan to stop for groceries on the way home from work (ah, the luxury of having a couple of great utility bikes!). Now Ill be able to see to get home. The light (E3 Supernova) is showing some UV affect to the anodized finish, but still works well. The loose wire shown in the one image is to power a taillight. The reason I removed it from the other bike is that at some point that bike fell over (parked), and the wire got yanked and broken inside the housing (apparently). Since Im not using the dyno-powered taillight on the Dummy, its fine for this bike (the other bike has a newer Supernova headlight and the dedicated taillight). Since I took this picture last night, Ive removed the battery-powered headlight. I may return that light to helmet-mount status for really bad weather, should we get any this season.
