In the Kingdom of Wonder, a land without accountability and where impunity can be bought, one of the greatest threats to Cambodias future economic develoent and international reputation may be the growing number of middle-class and wealthy students who are intellectually incapable of forming a single original thought. The biggest mistake a young person can make is to assume their life will always be easy because their daddy has money. Over my nearly 15 years as an educator dedicated to ensuring the betterment of my adoptive homeland, my most intelligent students, the ones who learn how to acquire and use knowledge, have come from poor families. The minute a wealthy Cambodian child leaves Cambodia and arrives in another country is the exact same moment they realize how incredibly handicapped and empty-headed they truly are.
