In the Midst of Sickness May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him. Romans 15:13 From our perspective, ongoing sickness doesnt make a great deal of sense. How on earth can pain and suffering be good? Equally frustrating can be our continuous pleas to God for relief while He seems to do nothing. Some of the godliest people in the Bible suffered prolonged sickness or disease. Job lost his children to tragic deaths, his belongings were destroyed, and he was stricken with painful sores all over his body. Yet the Bible tells us that God considered him blameless and upright. A young pastor named Timothy suffered from frequent stomach problems, yet to our knowledge he never experienced relief from pain. This tells us that we cannot make a direct correlation between godliness and sickness. We must make peace with the fact that godly people suffer. Never draw back from asking God to heal you. But as you bring your request, ask also that your eyes be opened to His goodness, and then trust that He is indeed doing something good in you (A Praying Heart, 2011). Please feel free to share Gods word
