In the Northeastern states, we have a popular super market chain, Market Basket which is practically being torn apart in a big family feud between its owners. One of them, Arthur T Demoulas, then CEO, & several other managers, was fired by the other half of the family, headed by Arthur S Demoulas, As a result of this, the whole work force, struck in protest of Arthur Ts firing. Arthur T was well liked by employees & customers alike. The side of the family, in control, is looking to sell Market Basket to a bigger chain of stores, or sell it off in pieces of land, etc. Arthur T had a way of managing Market Basket, which both employees & customers, who he treated like family & kept prices low. People like Arthur T. and want him back in control of Market Basket. The family feud went on for decades. Arthur T offered the controlling group a reasonable & fair price over and above the value of the company. Arthur S is considering other offers to buy the company by others. The only viable option Arthur Ss group has is to accept Arthur Ts offer & return him as CEO, then all the employees will comeback to work, and customers who boycotted Market Basket will come back. I think some one like Warren Buffet should step in and sweeten Arthur Ts offer to help put Arthur T back in control & get things back to normal with Market Basket.
