In the November 1981 Journal Bill Moody wrote an article titled: The Law of Divine Maintenance. Within this article he shared this healing that is explained as having unfolded through the patients step by step redemption. This is what I remembered as I read this current posting from JSHOnline. This testimony also evolved as the patients redemption unfolded. Some years ago a woman, the mother of two children, lost her sight. She was informed by eye specialists that she would never again be able to see. This distressing situation was further complicated by a medical diagnosis of tuberculosis and, finally, a pronouncement that the woman could not expect to live more than two years. In the meantime, however, the woman had learned of Christian Science. Her family began reading passages to her from Science and Health, and she received treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. She gradually began to regain her sight (after a four-year period of complete blindness) until the vision returned to normal. The tuberculosis was also healed. The woman later reported that the progress in the healing had been evidenced step by step only as her redemption took place. She pointed out, Through Christian Science I got rid of fear, shame, resentment, condemnation, criticism, hatred, and a sense of inferiority. She went on to say: I learned that Gods law is the only true law and entirely good, and I learned to be obedient to it. ... I learned that man, spiritual man—the man of Gods creation—is complete and perfect now. ... I learned most of all that sight or vision is spiritual and cannot be lost, decayed, carried away, or dimmed.4
