In the September 12th edition of The Daily Sentinel: The city will hold a third and a fourth public hearing on how to spend federal Community Development Block Grant funds both in 2015 and in the five-year period 2015-2019. The hearings are set for 1 and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Ava Dorfman Senior Center, 305 E. Locust St. Each year the city receives money from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development intended to primarily benefit low- to moderate-income Rome residents and eliminate slum and blight, through decent housing, suitable living environment and expanded economic opportunities.
