In the aftermath of such tragedies, people are extremely emotional and agitated and that usually clouds their judgments. We need to remember that guerrilla warfare, to this day, has never been countered successfully just with brute force. If people think that the Pakistan Army can overcome this threat by applying full force and resources, I can guarantee that they are only chasing an illusion. Even the strongest armies of the superpowers of the world couldnt defeat guerrilla forces (USA in Vietnam, USSR in Afghanistan) just by the use of their military might. To check the growth of terrorism and to exterminate its proponents, we must strike at the roots. Not even a thousand Zarb-i-Azbs can do that. We need to win the war on ideological fronts. Only this can stop the continuous inflow of new recruits in their ranks and funds in their coffers. If we continue advocating the use of brute force and do not do anything for the ideological front, we are as good as defeated. It will ultimately suck our resources dry and the toll on life and morale will keep getting higher. This is high time that we made sane decisions, let the rationality prevail and do not get carried away in the heat of the moment. #PeshawarAttack #PakistanBleeds
