In the beginning was the Word... Eternal things! We use social media for taking silly quizzes, saving the whales, posting selfies, and ranting about the government and then complain about or ignore the post that speaks eternal Truth. Why is it that we can so easily dismiss the Word. We may not like it. It may convict us. It may rebuke us. It may teach us. But most of all it reveals our heart. When we treat it lightly or reject the teaching and admonition that God lays before us it speaks of deep things hidden in our heart. Social Media can be one of the greatest way to share the gospel, teach truth, and infuse the Word into our society. I have close to 10,000 followers on Twitter and Facebook. Many of those retweet or repost the teachings and encouragement I post throughout the day thus increasing those numbers exponentially. (Thank you!) How many of your friends that would never go to church to listen to a sermon, read your wall or follow your tweets? Dont just read it and move on repost or retweet it you never know who you will touch today and what God might do but I know one thing for sure - It wont come back void.
