In the brilliant Coen Brothers film Inside Llewyn Davis, struggling folk singer Llewyn Davis meets Jean and then goes on a journey that leads him to one misadventure after another before he meets her again. Between his two meetings with Jean, it seems half a lifetime has passed, and the Coens meant it to be that way, only for us to realise later that its actually been just a week. Its a heartfelt motif for struggling artists, something I can relate to a lot. A single day seems like a year. The only thing that sees us through is our art and the hope that the next sunrise would bring with it an opportunity to display it.
