In the chapter of the Satanic Scriptures entitled ‘Satanism: The Feared Religion’, Gilmore presents a ridiculous five-point plan to influence society to the benefit of Satanists. These five points are the elimination of egalitarianism (the elimination of social equality), taxation of all churches, Lex Talionis (punishment identical to offense- retribution and vengeance, an eye for an eye), artificial human companions (cloned slaves), and artificial leisure environments (theme parks). None of these ideas hold much (if any) merit for improving the quality of life for Satanists, other humans or other life on Earth. The elimination of the drive towards social equality is among the worst ideas to ever be presented as Satanic, and is blatantly and inherently self-defeatist in that it provides individuals with disempowering self-perceptions of inferiority and a fixed position in an unjust hierarchy. It is yet another in a long line of capitulations by old-guard Satanists to monotheist values- namely that of securing unjust power though hierarchical structures founded on supernatural authority. Beyond that, the denial of the character of Satan being egalitarian is a falsehood- any rebellion against God is a step toward egalitarianism by default, and has vast potential to create a greater equality within Earthly societies. From a mythological, hypothetical viewpoint, f Satan had won the coup against God and become a dictator in heaven, at the very least that dictator would share much more in common with the subjects of that dictatorship- an angel would govern over many angels, instead of those angels being governed by a non-angel. Any being (living, historical or fictional) shares more in common with those of its own species (even mythological species such as angels and demons) that it shares in common with the monotheistic concept of the character of God. Equality is relative and subjective, and often misinterpreted as an end goal, when it truth it is a continuous entropic process… the breaking down of the obstacles (often encapsulated by hierarchical structures) which prevent greater equality. Inequalities in society are irregularities- aberrations which a just society attempts to correct. From a mythological standpoint, Satan is among the best known amongst fictional characters to fight (and suffer) for greater equality.
