In the context of a conversation I had today, I ran into someone - TopicsExpress

In the context of a conversation I had today, I ran into someone who said that theyd studied Adam Smiths work for five years and somehow seemed to think that his market theories depended on some sort of fundamental goodness in human nature. Considering Smiths rather strong statements about commercial entities always conspiring with one another against the consumer, their employees and potential future competitors, along with his calls for necessary government regulation in order to prevent such things, I do have to wonder how far the way his work is being explained has been perverted by those who teach modern economics. The mind fairly boggles!
