In the continuing saga of Billies monitor, she drove down to our nearest Best Buy to change it out today. (If you were following the story, she saved $60 by buying a refurb online that arrived cracked.) I was quietly getting on with things on the computer when the phone rang. She had checked their prices on her phone before going into the store, and found that monitor was now $100 more than it was last week. She was not prepared to pay that price, so we agreed that she would negotiate for the lower price and, if she could not get it, just return the refurb to the store for a cash refund. She arrived home happy as a clam, and now has 27 of crisp, clear, shiny new monitor in her office. Makes my old 19 and 21 monitors look like iPhones - Im going to have to get a 29 now just to stay on top :) And yes, she did get the previous price, so it should have only cost an extra $60. Except she decided to go for the 2-year extended warranty, so it cost an extra $99 instead. That, I suspect might have been part of the negotiation!
