In the days of the Wilderness, Moses instructed the people to provide cities for the Levites. Six of these cities became places of refuge for the accidental murderer, stranger and temporary resident. Today we have become the priesthood and the city. One of the most important functions of the city is that of place of refuge. In the world we have become that place of refuge and safety.
