In the death of Travis Alexander and the high-profile murder trial - TopicsExpress

In the death of Travis Alexander and the high-profile murder trial that followed, the siblings would meet and decide who would speak at the trial and give the ‘victim impact statements.’ It wasn’t going to be an easy task. In fact, it would be the hardest thing they’d ever had to do in their lives. The only issue was at the time is they didn’t realize they would have to end up presenting them twice. It is gut wrenching and oh so painful to have to get up and try to stay composed while at the same time, you want the jurors to ‘get to know your brother like you knew him. He was the kind hearted, compassionate and oh so funny brother that everyone knew and grew to love. After all, they had only heard vicious lies and rumors from the murderer herself, Jodi Arias. She spent 18 days on the witness stand and she attacked Travis and his reputation every breath that she took and with every word that she spoke. The more she got to trash Travis, the better her stories became. Samantha and Steven spoke the first trial and I honestly didn’t think Samantha was going to get thru it. My heart ached for her so deeply that I wished I could reach out and reassure her that we were all behind her and supporting her. Sitting at the defense table was Jodi arias, and look at her expression in this picture and the look on her face. It was complete disgust and a waste of her time to even have to be there. Steven comes up he tells of the many hardships he’s encountered since Travis was murdered. How he has to sleep with the lights on at night, how he has horrible nightmares and how he is fighting and struggling to save his marriage. But as with this picture, he turns and looks at Jodi Arias and says, “I never want to have to see the face of my brother’s murderer again.” You would think that would affect Jodi’s emotions a little bit but not at all. Still, no emotion or remorse showed on Jodi’s face. The same look of disgust and waste of her time was plastered on her face. Why didn’t the jurors pick up on that? Why didn’t the four who voted to spare her life not realize that she didn’t give a damn that Travis Alexander was dead and she sure didn’t care that the siblings were grieving and suffering like they were in giving their victim impact speech. Jodi told a reporter that she didn’t like to look back at the siblings in the courtroom because they all looked like Travis and she didn’t want to be reminded of the man who ‘abused’ her. How could she turn all of it around and lay the blame on Travis? He lays buried in a graveyard and would never have the opportunity to sit in a courtroom to give his side of the story and fight for his justice. Bottom line, Jodi Arias simply did not care then and she does not care now! What matters to Jodi is that she gets to spew all of the vicious lies against Travis and although she’s murdered him once in cold blood, she’s intent to murder him again in the court of law. And unfortunately there is not anybody that is putting a stop to her lies. There is one man that has dedicated his entire last seven years of his life to speak out and be the voice for Travis and that’s Juan Martinez. He hasn’t gotten where he is in this trial the easy way because he’s had to fight not only the defense every step of the way but he’s had to battle Judge Stephens at times as well. It’s been an uphill battle for Juan. No matter what the outcome of this trial, nobody has fought harder for Travis than the prosecutor in this case and nobody has been the ‘voice’ for Travis like Juan has. Your life mattered Travis and you are loved and you are missed. Admin/Sharon.
