In the desire to experience change or find more meaning in life, - TopicsExpress

In the desire to experience change or find more meaning in life, we often look outside ourselves for answers. We may seek a guru, a mentor, or a lover to teach us what we think we need to know to be more self-aware or different than we are. In doing so, we tend to allow our personal power to be siphoned off to somebody else or something else in hopes that we will be provided with answers. Often, we put that other person on a pedestal and then feel let down by perceived human frailty when they fall off. For various reasons, we are reticent to commit to becoming our own guru, our own mentor, or even our own lover. Ironically, we are the ones we have been waiting for. We must commit to ourselves first and foremost, and from there, everything can unfold from pure potentiality. ~Melissa Joy M-Joy Practically Speaking
