In the early morning hours of December 4th the Washingtonville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported apartment fire in our first due. En-route to the scene, Car 1 was advised by Orange 911 that PD was on scene reporting a heavy smoke condition. Shortly after this Car 1 arrived on scene, confirmed a working fire and transmitted the 2nd alarm. First due companies stretched a line to the second floor apartment and found fire in the walls and ceiling. Crews from E-584 and T-579 made short work of the fire and had it knocked in under 15 minutes. Crews remained on scene for about 2 hours conducting overhaul and hitting hot spots. Washingtonville units were assisted by Vails Gate FD, Salisbury MIlls FD, South Blooming Grove FD and Maybrook FD.
