In the face of many objections and with wide encouragement, I am starting this group as a forum for the discussion of forging a New Party. This is a time like no other. It demands of us innovations in politics, finance and generally in our culture. I understand this opportunity for action, for innovation, that is before us as being the time, when in the future, we will recognize as the most important period of human development. The Net is our single biggest game changing cultural innovation. Certainly, the Net is right up there with language, agriculture, the printing press, the industrial revolution, democracy. With the Net, as it is, we can construct, together, the networks needed to begin the innovations demanded of us. We are charged with the task of redirecting the flow of resources, wealth and political power toward the fulfillment of our most cherished values of liberty, human dignity, and self-reliance.
