In the film version of The Sound Of Music, Director Robert Wise - TopicsExpress

In the film version of The Sound Of Music, Director Robert Wise set Do-Re-Mi as a montage across different locations in Salzburg, Austria. Star Julie Andrews explained why: He used it to signify a passage of time, so by the end of the song, the summer has passed. And Captain von Trapp is home with the Baroness. Its a lovely way of saying what fun we had during the summer. Filming that montage was probably for me the quintessential moment of the film. Here is “Do-Re-Mi” from the 1965 film version of THE SOUND OF MUSIC! SHARE with your friends and family who love the film version of the musical!
